India vs Hongkong: At the Dubai International Cricket Stadium tonight, the defending champions India will play Hong Kong, two days after a spectacular start to their Asia Cup 2022 campaign. Old rivals India and Pakistan produced a last-over conclusion in a highly anticipated match, with the game playing up to its billing.
After Hong Kong won the toss and decided to bowl in their
opening match of the 2018 Asia Cup, India will have to bat first. Nizakat Khan,
one of the season's only qualifiers, chose to bowl first after winning the toss
and playing his first ball aggressively. They decided to bowl and take their
chances against a formidable batting order like India's instead of taking the
first strike. Returning to Men in Blue, it is important to note that Rohit has
only made one alteration to the side, keeping DK in place by substituting Pant
for Hardik.
India defeated Hong Kong by a score of 40 runs to reach the
Super Fours. Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav both scored 50 runs while India
was batting first, helping the team to set a target of 193 runs. In response,
Hong Kong got off to a strong start as the youthful Indian pacers struggled.
But as soon as the Indian spinners entered the picture, Hong Kong's pursuit
slowed down. Despite their best efforts, Nizakat Khan and Babar Hayatt were
ultimately unsuccessful.
Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav both scored fifty runs to
help India beat Hong Kong with a challenging total of 192/2. India was had to
bat first and Rohit Sharma was quickly dismissed. KL Rahul was eventually
struck out after managing only 36 off of 39 balls. Suryakumar Yadav
nevertheless took control from this point on and sent the Hong Kong spinners
flying in all directions. After Kohli reached his first international fifty since
February, he blasted to his fifty in a flash. As SKY neared fifty, he unleashed
the Haroon for four SIXES off of his final over. He had 68 off 26 balls and was
still unbeaten. At 59 off 44, Kohli was undefeated.
Post Match Ceremony:
Captain's Talk:
Nizakat Khan (HK): From the moment we received the ball until the 13th over, we were magnificent. Additionally, our fielding was superb. But after that, we lost our way. It was enjoyable to see Suryakumar bat. All the boys had a good opportunity. We were gone for a very long time, so the boys deserve a lot of credit, and I am really proud of them. Tomorrow, when we sit down, we'll review our death bowling. We'll get better.
Rohit Sharma (IND): We initially batted fairly effectively and reached a high score. We should have handled the ball a little bit better, but we came out and bowled very effectively. The remarks will be brief given the kind of innings he played today (SKY). We occasionally seen that with him. He always has terrible knocks to offer. He simply steps up to the plate and hits confidently, like his club demands. A few of the shots he made today are not mentioned in the book. It was a lot of fun to watch. The choice of shot was also important. We are aware that he can play everywhere in the park. The group has also been told about this by us.The majority of the lads are prepared to seize the chance and be prepared to bat wherever it may be needed. We require flexibility of that nature. We will accept such risks. We'll strive to use the appropriate pairings.
Player of the Match (Suryakumar Yadav): While some of them are predefined, this format is all about your pre-game planning and thought process. Additionally, you must continue to live in the present. The wicket seemed a little sluggish to me. I had a plan in place. My part was to enter, pick up the tempo, and simply express myself; I enjoyed it. You must be adaptable (to numerous places), and I have also opened. You should be prepared to bat at any number. I have batted at all number. It was great fun for me.
